David A. MacDonald brings 31 years of experience and a unique perspective to his role as Senior LPL Registered Client Service Associate at Gibson Financial Group. His journey into the financial services industry began as a caddy, where he first gained exposure to the world of finance. Encouraged by his blue-collar working parents to pursue education and opportunity, David went on to solidify his passion through formal studies and work-study programs that laid the foundation for a distinguished career. Today, he holds FINRA Series 7, 9, 10, 53, and 63 licenses through LPL Financial, reflecting his technical expertise and commitment to industry standards.

David earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a focus on Finance from Northeastern University later completing an MBA in Finance to further enhance his knowledge and capabilities. His educational background, combined with decades of hands-on experience, enables him to help individual investors understand their investments, portfolios, and goals with clarity and confidence. David's approach to client service is grounded in the belief that "sales through service" is the cornerstone of lasting financial independence. He firmly believes that this business is, and always will be, a relationship business—people do business with those they know, value, and who are responsive to their needs. His go-to financial advice, inspired by legendary Coach John Wooden, is simple yet profound: "Failure to prepare is preparation for failure."

One of David's favorite aspects of his role is interacting with clients and younger associates alike. He takes pride not only in guiding clients through complex financial decisions but also in mentoring the next generation of advisors, teaching them about markets, customer service, and professional development. His commitment to education extends beyond the office—he taught graduate-level finance classes at Endicott College for 10 years, sharing his expertise with aspiring finance professionals. Before transitioning fully into financial services, David spent 12 years working in the golf industry, an experience that instilled discipline, attention to detail, and a service-oriented mindset. He currently works part-time as an Event Security Officer, bringing his commitment to service and community into yet another arena.

A native of Manchester, Massachusetts, David now resides in Peabody with his wife, Kathy. Together, they have three children: Brian, Katie, and Tim. An Eagle Scout since 1985, David has volunteered on many community projects through the Boy Scouts of America, reflecting his lifelong dedication to service and mentorship. Outside of work, David enjoys fishing, golfing, and traveling with his family, finding balance and inspiration in both his professional and personal pursuits.
